Paper Zoo have devised this new play, which premiered at
the Edinburgh Fringe 2010. The play will tour in Autumn
2010. Tour details below.
We find ourselves in a busy call-centre in 2020, drones patrol the
skies, office buildings are designed to keep their inhabitants
‘safe’ through CCTV, chip-technology and computerised systems
and nobody has the time to think.

Dawn Technologies is on the brink of a major breakthrough in
‘clean’, ‘renewable’ energy production. The Company is busy
recruiting engineers for the Solar Reconstruction programme that
will change the way we live forever…

When a catastrophic natural disaster occurs the team have to
switch to handling calls from distraught relatives. As the
technology they rely on fails, they must confront one another and
themselves in order to transform and face the future.

2020 Vision is a futuristic but realistic look at where we may be in
ten short years as technology and Big Business continues to
govern the world, dictating people’s lives, and dehumanising
those caught in the trap of meaningless work and on the treadmill
of a materialistic lifestyle.

What happens when the voice on the end of the line needs
someone to talk to?
